Will something happen today besides a shadow from the Moon crossing the globe of the Earth? Will the energy of this eclipse stay steady over the coming weeks, bringing forth truth from prophecy? Or is this all just a mass amount of social media hype and distraction from our present reality?
First, some facts.

What is an Eclipse?
A Solar Eclipse is the phenomenon we see from Earth when the Moon crosses between us and the Sun, blocking out part - and sometimes all - of the Sun’s light on our surface. It creates a shadow from the Moon, causing a midnight-like darkness in the middle of the day. There are three different types of eclipses, two of which are pretty common. There are Annular Eclipses that happen once every year or two, in which the Moon is too far away from the Earth to completely cover the disk of the Sun. This leaves a ring of visible sunlight around the Moon that is visible with the aid of special eclipse glasses. There are also Partial Solar Eclipses that happen even more regularly - usually about twice a year - when the Sun is partially covered by the Moon, leaving a crescent-shaped Sun when viewing through these same special glasses. Though each of these cases is interesting in its own right, they are nothing when compared to a Total Solar Eclipse.
During a Total Solar Eclipse as the Moon is transiting into place, we will first see a Partial Eclipse as the Moon begins to cover the Sun. With glasses on, the Sun will almost seem to go through a similar waning phase as the Moon does each month - starting in its bright full disk of glory, and slowly shrinking down to a crescent shape, as the Moon’s shadow crosses its path. This is called the “First Contact” phase. In the “Second Contact” phase -just moments before totality- the Moon will then transition to a place known as Bailey’s Beads, in which the only light still visible from the Sun is that in the deepest craters of the Moon ; lining up on the very edge, like a series of beads on a chain. Quickly these “Beads” will disappear, leaving behind the phase known as “Diamond Ring” - when the ring from the last of the Sunlight will be incredibly slight and accompanied by only a single crater left of light - looking incredibly like a diamond ring in the sky. At this point, Nature herself begins to notice and respond. As the sky begins to darken - birds will stop singing, and crickets will begin chirping. Depending on your placement on the Path of Totality, this may last a few single fleeting moments - or an incredible few minutes.
While Partial Eclipses can happen a couple of times a year in any given location, and Annular Eclipses happen close to once a year - to be in the path of a Total Eclipse only happens about once every 400 years in any one single location - making this year’s event a nearly once in a lifetime opportunity to witness the magic of the Universe.
Eclipses are predictable events based on the orbits and motions of the celestial bodies involved. They occur periodically and can be observed from various locations on Earth. They also can have several effects on Earth - both direct and indirect. During a solar eclipse, when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, there can be a temporary drop in temperature in the areas covered by the eclipse's shadow. This is because the Sun's rays are partially or fully blocked, reducing the amount of solar energy reaching the Earth's surface. Solar eclipses can affect atmospheric conditions as well, leading to changes in wind patterns and air temperature gradients. Solar eclipses allow researchers to observe the Sun's corona, (the outer atmosphere that is normally obscured by the Sun's glare,) and have historically held cultural and social significance for various civilizations around the world.
However, Solar Eclipses - specifically those including a Totality - have also been interpreted as omens in many cultures, and rituals or ceremonies have been performed during eclipses to ward off perceived negative effects or to mark the event's significance. Each Native American tribe had their own interpretations of solar eclipses. Some saw them as the sun being temporarily swallowed by a celestial creature, while others viewed them as a time of transformation or renewal. In ancient Egypt, eclipses were interpreted as signs from the gods - often foretelling disaster or upheaval. There is even evidence that the ancient Egyptians had some understanding of the cyclical nature of eclipses - but they still held a significant religious and symbolic meaning. In Mesopotamia, eclipses were seen as omens, often interpreted by priests who observed the heavens for signs of the gods' will. These omens could be seen as either positive or negative, depending on the circumstances.
Eclipses also hold religious significance for various cultures throughout history, often being interpreted within the context of their specific beliefs and cosmologies. In many ancient cultures, eclipses were seen as omens or divine messages from the gods. They were often interpreted as warnings of impending disasters, such as wars, famines, or natural disasters. Religious leaders and priests played a crucial role in interpreting eclipses and advising rulers or communities accordingly. Eclipses are often regarded as sacred moments in time and space when the ordinary laws of the universe are temporarily suspended. They provide opportunities for reflection, prayer, and spiritual contemplation. In many religious traditions, special rituals or observances are conducted during eclipses to honor their significance and invoke divine blessings.
Eclipses were sometimes viewed as manifestations of cosmic forces or struggles between celestial beings. For example, in Hindu mythology, the demon Rahu is said to swallow the Sun during solar eclipses, causing temporary darkness. This symbolic battle between light and darkness reflects broader themes of cosmic conflict and balance. the religious significance of eclipses varies widely across different cultures and traditions, reflecting diverse beliefs about the nature of the cosmos and humanity's place within it. Eclipses serve as powerful symbols of cosmic forces, divine intervention, and the interconnectedness of the spiritual and material worlds.
Overall, eclipses have played a multifaceted role in human history, shaping our understanding of the cosmos, influencing cultural practices and beliefs, and fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity about the universe. Even in modern times, eclipses continue to be of great scientific interest. They provide opportunities for astronomers to conduct research, make observations, and test theories about the Sun, Moon, and Earth's atmospheres. Eclipses sometimes bring communities together as people gather to observe and experience the event collectively. Shared experiences of wonder and awe during eclipses could strengthen social bonds and foster a sense of unity among individuals.
The Astrology of Eclipses
In astrology, an eclipse is considered a significant event with potential astrological implications. Eclipses are believed to amplify the effects of planetary movements and alignments, often heralding periods of change, transformation, and intensity in various aspects of life. Solar Eclipses are seen as incredibly potent and symbolize new beginnings, fresh starts, and the seeds of new opportunities. They are times of heightened energy and can indicate opportunities for growth, initiation of projects, and setting new goals. However, solar eclipses are also associated with sudden changes, endings, and the release of old patterns or structures that no longer serve us. In astrology, the effects of eclipses are believed to be felt not only during the time of the eclipse itself but also in the months that follow, as they set in motion a series of events and developments that unfold over time.
Astrologers often look at the astrological houses and zodiac signs involved to understand which areas of life may be affected. While the houses and signs involved fluctuate in each person’s own natal chart to signify how these transits will affect people on an individual basis - the alignments of the day itself can represent more of society as a whole.
The Astrology of today's Eclipse
You would think that the most important part of the astrology of this eclipse would be the Sun’s general placement - and while that thought is not necessarily wrong, it is more about the way that specific placement is aligned with others.
The Sun
The Eclipse is happening in the sign of Aries - the sign of assertiveness, courage, independence, and initiative. When a solar eclipse occurs in Aries, it amplifies these characteristics, potentially bringing a surge of energy for new beginnings, personal growth, and taking action. Solar eclipses are often seen as powerful moments for initiating change and setting intentions for the future. In Aries, this may involve taking bold steps towards personal or professional goals, asserting oneself in relationships or endeavors, and embracing opportunities for self-discovery and empowerment. Aries is known for its emphasis on individuality and self-expression. During a solar eclipse in Aries, there may be a heightened focus on asserting one's identity, expressing oneself authentically, and pursuing passions and interests that resonate with one's true nature. On the shadow side, the assertive energy of Aries combined with the intensity of a solar eclipse may also bring about challenges related to conflicts, impulsive behavior, or clashes of wills. It's important to be mindful of potential tensions and to channel this energy constructively rather than impulsively. Solar eclipses in Aries can catalyze significant changes in individual lives and within society as a whole. It's a time for taking bold leaps forward, breaking free from old patterns or limitations, and embracing opportunities for growth and self-realization.
The Moon
During the Eclipse another important placement is that of the Moon. This Eclipse Cycle started back on March 25th, as a Lunar Eclipse in Libra - which actually connects back to the April 20th, 2023 Lunar Eclipse in Aries. This Aries-Libra axis has been the main contending point for the entire past year of both Solar and Lunar eclipses, and this one of totality is the ending of that cycle. As Aries is ruled by combative Mars, and Libra by the conciliatory Venus - this cycle has been one of symbolizing war and peace over the past year.
When a lunar eclipse occurs in Libra, it can highlight themes related to partnerships, cooperation, and diplomacy. Libra is also associated with justice, fairness, and social justice. During a lunar eclipse in Libra, there may be a collective emphasis on seeking fairness, equality, and balance in social, political, and legal matters. Issues related to fairness, inequality, and injustice may come to the forefront of public consciousness.
Chiron
Sitting pretty directly next to the Sun during this eclipse will be Chiron, the wounded healer. Chiron is often associated with themes of healing, inner wounds, and the integration of past hurts for personal growth and transformation. Solar eclipses are powerful moments for initiating change and setting intentions for the future. When combined with Chiron, the focus may be on healing old wounds, releasing past hurts, and embracing opportunities for emotional and spiritual growth. This can be a time for acknowledging and integrating areas of pain or vulnerability in order to move forward with greater wholeness and authenticity. Chiron's influence encourages us to explore the deeper layers of our psyche and uncover hidden aspects of ourselves that may need healing or attention. During a solar eclipse conjunct Chiron, there may be opportunities for profound self-discovery and increased self-awareness, as we confront and work through unresolved issues from the past.
Mercury
Also conjunct this eclipse is a Retrograding Mercury. The conjunction of Mercury retrograde with a total solar eclipse is a potent astrological configuration that can influence communication, perception, and the flow of information in significant ways. Mercury retrograde periods are often associated with communication breakdowns, misunderstandings, and delays in information exchange. When Mercury is retrograde and conjunct a total solar eclipse, these challenges may be intensified. Solar eclipses are often associated with revelations, uncovering hidden truths, and bringing unconscious material to light. When Mercury retrograde is involved, there may be a heightened focus on uncovering hidden information or secrets. This can be a time for digging beneath the surface, questioning assumptions, and exploring the deeper layers of our consciousness.
The Nodes
The North and South Nodes when linked are representative of our destiny in the natal chart. Our past life, spiritual baggage, and the inherited gifts we brought into this lifetime are shown in the South Node - and in the North Node are the lessons your soul needs to acquire ; unveiling the passions, talents, and growth you need to harness to reach your full potential. The North Node in Aries during an eclipse brings a focus on growth, destiny, and evolution in the context of the Aries themes and energies we have just discussed. The North Node represents the direction in which we are moving collectively and personally, indicating areas of growth and development in this lifetime. Aries is associated with traits such as independence, courage, initiative, and self-discovery.
When the South Node is opposite a total eclipse, it creates a dynamic tension between past patterns, karma, and the transformative energies of the eclipse. The South Node represents our past, including habits, patterns, and karmic influences. When it's opposite a total eclipse, there's a call to release old patterns and behaviors that no longer serve our growth and evolution. The eclipse acts as a catalyst for letting go of outdated ways of being and thinking, clearing the path for new beginnings. The South Node's opposition to the eclipse suggests a reckoning with our karmic past. This can involve confronting unresolved issues, facing the consequences of past actions, and embracing the lessons learned from previous experiences. The eclipse may bring hidden truths to light, revealing aspects of our past that need to be acknowledged and integrated. When the South Node is involved, there's a focus on releasing emotional baggage and finding closure on past wounds. This can involve forgiveness, acceptance, and emotional integration as we let go of the past and move forward with greater clarity and resilience.
Ultimately, the opposition between the South Node and the eclipse is part of our soul's evolutionary journey. It's an opportunity to release karmic baggage, integrate past experiences, and align with our true path and purpose. The eclipse acts as a portal for transformation, propelling us forward on our journey of spiritual evolution and self-realization. The opposition between the South Node and the eclipse highlights a tension between past conditioning and the potential for growth and liberation. It's a time to break free from limiting beliefs, self-imposed restrictions, and patterns of behavior that keep us stuck in old paradigms. The eclipse invites us to step into our power and embrace new possibilities for growth and expansion.
Venus
When Venus is conjunct a total eclipse, it brings the themes of love, relationships, harmony, beauty, and values into the transformative energies of the eclipse. This can manifest as deeper emotional connections, passionate encounters, or confrontations with unresolved relationship issues. The eclipse may bring hidden emotions to the surface, encouraging us to address them with honesty and compassion. Venus seeks harmony and balance, so when it's conjunct a total eclipse, there may be a focus on harmonizing conflicting energies and resolving discordant situations. This can involve finding common ground in relationships, negotiating compromises, and seeking peaceful resolutions to conflicts.
Stellium
If this seems like a lot of things happening at once, it is because it is. During this eclipse, we will be experiencing a stellium in the sign of Aries. A stellium is any alignment of three or more astrological bodies landing in any one area of the chart. During this eclipse we have a stellium of the Sun, and the Moon -the obvious players- but also Chiron, Mercury, Venus, and the North Node. The planets in our solar system have varying orbital periods, which means they move through the zodiac at different rates. Some planets, like the Moon, move relatively quickly and spend only a few days in each sign, while others, like Pluto, move much more slowly and can spend many years in a single sign. As a result, it's less common for three or more planets to be closely grouped together in the same sign or house at the same time. From a statistical perspective, the likelihood of multiple planets aligning closely in the same sign or house is relatively low - and since total eclipses are relatively infrequent in themselves the occurrence of both events simultaneously is considered highly unusual.
…which brings us to…
The Conspiracies
As if the Astrological line-up of the day is not enough - remember those few fleeting moments of darkness we discussed at the beginning of this post? According to some of the conspiracies we are about to dive into - those evanescent moments of daytime midnight may last full days or even weeks ; as the “magic” of this eclipse is stronger than most of those witnessed before.
The Devil’s Comet
In addition to this incredible astrological alignment, also visible in our sky during total darkness will be The Pons-Brooks Comet, nicknamed The Devil’s Comet and The Mother of Dragons due to its horn-like double tail of outbursting gas and dust. While typical comets range between half a mile to just under two miles in diameter, the brightness of the Devil’s Comet estimates it to be an amazing 12.4 miles across, which makes it roughly twice the size of Mount Everest. This comet was first found in 1812 by French Astronomer, Jean Louis Pons. The last time this comet was seen in our orbit was almost 70 years ago, on September 4th, 1954.
The appearance of comets through ancient traditions has often been viewed in much the same ways as eclipses - as omens, and signs from the Gods. For example, some Native American tribes saw comets as messengers from the spirit world or as harbingers of change and transformation. In Australian Aboriginal mythology, comets were sometimes associated with the spirits of ancestors or with the creation of the world. During the Middle Ages in Europe, comets were often viewed through a religious lens. They were seen as signs of divine displeasure or punishment, and their appearances were often interpreted as warnings of impending disasters or divine judgment. In ancient Greece and Rome, comets were often interpreted as omens or signs from the gods. They were seen as portents of impending doom or significant events, such as wars, famines, or the deaths of rulers. Interestingly, comets have even coincided with some pretty major events throughout history.
Perhaps the best-known example is Halley’s Comet, which flashed across the skies in 1066 before King Harold’s defeat at the Battle of Hastings. The Bayeux Tapestry records this apparition and also shows a number of nobles from King Harold’s court all looking up and pointing anxiously at the ‘hairy star’ which had so silently appeared.
Though this comet is incredibly far from Earth, (ever further than the Sun,) and there is no worry or fear of it impacting the globe - the idea of its appearance during this already hyped Solar Eclipse leaves room for conspiracies to grow and thrive.
Nibiru
Nibiru is the mythological planet in our solar system that is said to be home to the Anunaki race of non-human people. Its story originated in the Babylonian creation myth of Enuma Elish from the Ancient Mesopotamian people. This story explains the creation of the world and the cosmos through a cosmic struggle between the Gods. Nibiru has been popularized as a supposed rogue planet or brown dwarf that periodically enters the inner solar system, posing a threat to Earth. Though scientific evidence of this planet is elusive, it does exist. However, instead of Nibiru, NASA calls this Hypothetical Planet-X. By hypothetical they mean that, at this point, there has been no direct observation of this planet in our solar system - BUT there is mathematical evidence and theoretical observations that not only show Planet-X to be more than just hypothetical but also help explain other unexplainable movements deep in our solar system.
However, unless this planet is cloaked with invisibility it is so far out in our solar system that it is still undetectable by all of the technology and telescopes available today. It is nearly impossible that, as conspiracy suggests, Nibiru is between the Earth and the Sun and the true source of this eclipse.
CERN
Another major player in this eclipse is the European Organization for Nuclear Research Particle Physics lab in Geneva, Switzerland called CERN. It was founded in 1954 and has since become a leading institution in the field of particle physics and nuclear research. Its establishment was driven by the desire to promote scientific collaboration and understanding following the devastation of World War II. CERN's primary mission is to conduct fundamental research in the field of particle physics. Its objectives include exploring the fundamental constituents of matter, studying the forces that govern the universe, and advancing our understanding of the origins and nature of the cosmos. CERN is home to a vast array of research facilities, including particle accelerators, detectors, and experimental apparatus. The most famous of these is the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator. The LHC is a circular tunnel located underground, spanning a circumference of 27 kilometers (about 17 miles). It accelerates protons and other particles to nearly the speed of light, allowing scientists to study the fundamental properties of matter and the universe.
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator. The primary purpose of the LHC is to accelerate subatomic particles, primarily protons, to nearly the speed of light and collide them together. These high-energy collisions allow scientists to study the fundamental properties of matter and the universe. Protons are accelerated to high energies in opposite directions within the LHC tunnel. They travel around the ring in separate beam pipes and are brought into collision at four intersection points, where large detectors are positioned to observe the resulting particle interactions. The LHC aims to address several key questions in particle physics, including the search for the Higgs boson (which was discovered in 2012), the investigation of dark matter and dark energy, the study of the strong nuclear force, and the exploration of extra dimensions and other theoretical concepts beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. The point of all of these experiments is to recreate the building blocks of our Universe and see how the Big Bang formed our galaxy.
Conspiracy comes into play with CERN as this LHC is predicted to instead tear a massive black hole into the fabric of our reality, and/or open a portal into another dimension when kicked back up to 100%. However, rumors of this machine being turned back on during the April 8th eclipse are false, as it was actually powered up on Friday, April 5th after their regularly scheduled and planned winter break.
The timing of it happening around the eclipse is apparently a coincidence.
(...though with CERN’s apparent “ghosts” currently showing real physical force in messing up these experiments - this timing coincidence is one of concern in my book…)
Other Conspiracies
There are a multitude of other conspiracy theories pertaining to this eclipse as well. Including the two broods of cicadas due to pop out of the ground around the same time in the center of the “X.” Also in that center point, rumor has it that Giants will come up with the cicadas, as that “X” marks the center point of where the “doomsday” of it all will be begin, and a portion of it lands in Giant City State Park in Illinois. It is said that the elites will use this eclipse as a form of cover to control humanity, and even that this eclipse is poised to set a nationwide massive human sacrifice.
I think even more interesting than all of these wild predictions though, is what the ramp-up to this specific eclipse is doing psychologically to our nation as a whole. People are scared and paranoid about what could possibly come out of this. It was said in 2017 after the last eclipse that it brought people close together. More than three million people were surveyed and said that it brought about “language related to awe, humility, and togetherness spiked.” However, with the amount of terrifying predictions and assumptions for what will happen this time - people are responding with fear instead. Kate Russo, an author, psychologist, and eclipse chaser says, “Our initial response is to ask ourselves, ‘Is this an opportunity or a threat?’ When the light changes and the temperature drops, that triggers primal fear. When we have that threat response, our whole body is tuned in to taking in as much information as possible.”
The Earthquakes / Storms / Unusual Clouds
It is undeniable that over the course of the last couple of weeks leading up to this eclipse there has been an overabundance of unusual storms with strange cloud coverage in our skies - and the immense number of Earthquakes is absolutely cause for massive concern. But are these natural phenomena related to the coming eclipse? When asked about the April 5th 4.8 magnitude New Jersey earthquake, Paul Earl of the United States Geological Survey said the wild events weren’t connected.
However the timing of that earthquake with CERN’s power up - and the 4.8 of it (with the eclipse on April 8th,) seems to acknowledge some kind of conspiratorial connection ; especially when you take into account the inactive nature of this fault line, and the lightening storm the night before torching the flame of the Statue of Liberty.
As for the severe thunderstorms crossing the nation, Newsweek published an article on March 19th stating that along the Path of Totality, there were a total of 16,000 lightning strikes over the week. While they conclude this to have no correlation to the eclipse as it was, at the time, still two weeks away - as we discussed in the Astrology portion of this post, the energy of this Eclipse Cycle has been brewing for months, and will continue in months to come.
My favorite theory
A TikTok video created by @imaliveandkicking, talks about how this eclipse and the 2017 eclipse have proof in them that we are living in a matrix-style simulation. He says that the ripple effects of these eclipses are a "statistical improbability."
I for one find the strangeness of this event to be in the unending numbers of potential outcomes, and the way in which the astrology lines up so incredibly with the social and political environment of our current world. With wars being waged on every corner of the globe, while earthquakes shake land previously not shaken for centuries, and storms rip across our country - it is hard to not find correlating points in the conspiracies of this event.
Will something happen today besides a shadow from the Moon crossing the globe of the Earth? Will the energy of this eclipse stay steady over the coming weeks, bringing forth reality to prophecy? Or is this all just a mass amount of social media hype and distraction from our present reality?
Today as always - keep your eyes to the skies, guys.
(But don’t forget your glasses!)
So much understanding written here!
